1. Overview

▪ Co-organizers: Seoul National University Human Rights Center, Korea Center for United Nations Human Rights Policy, Korea Human Rights Foundation, Human Asia
▪ Sponsor: Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Republic of Korea)

2. Purpose
▪ To improve the understanding of the human rights situation in Northeast Asia and the UN human rights mechanisms through a model UPR session
▪ To discuss ways to implement recommendations of the Human Rights Council
▪ To provide an opportunity for students who are interested in human rights to consider working for international human rights organizations or international human rights NGOs
▪ To create a basis for cooperation in the field of human rights in Northeast Asia

3. Awards
① SNU President’s Award, Foreign Minister’s Award (2 groups*)
② Co-organizers’ Awards (4 groups*)
③ Partial funding for international human rights workshop for participants who receive the SNU President’s Award, Foreign Minister’s Award

* Please note that certain terms and names have been designated differently from 2014 onwards (e.g. “group(s)” was redesignated to “team(s)”).
